PRINCIPAL
Designer / Owner of Design Connection
Born and raised in Everett,
Washington, I left for Portland, Oregon, after receiving an Associates
Degree from Everett Community College. In Portland, I attended
the Bassist Institute and graduated in 1972 specializing in Interior
Design.
I began my career in Portland
working in residential Interiors. Within five years I was hired
by a commercial firm to focus on corporate and office Interiors.
This included a large emphasis
on space planning and ergonomic issues.
In 1980 I became part of an
independent design team: Loeb & Rodgers Interiors.
Independence allowed me to work in both commercial and residential
interiors. Independence also allows access to unlimited resources,
and professional collaboration.
In 1986 I opened Design Connection as a custom Interiors firm with a
retail showroom and Interiors library. I believe my clients have
good ideas. They use me to help put those ideasexpanded
and detailedinto reality. I have an open policy with my
resource library. My clients may explore the catalogues and samples
I have collected through years of design experience. My business
is Design/Sales. We charge hourly fees for design development
and offer quotations for products specified. If no development
time is needed, complimentary quotes are gladly given.
October of 1997 brought Design Connection to Kingston, Washington. The move to Kingston
developed from a desire to be closer to family and the open waters
of NW Washington. In essence I have come home. The
transition from Portland to Kingston took four years. A goal from
this move was to open a Bed & Breakfast as a second business
to compliment an ongoing Interiors career.
